About The Position

FAST Global Solutions is seeking a Welder for our Day Shift in Auburn, NE. Our Auburn, NE day shift schedule is from 6:00 am - 4:30 pm, Monday through Thursday, with overtime on Friday as needed Who we are: At FAST, we manufacture top quality, robust equipment for the major cargo handlers and airlines. Requirements

  • A qualified candidate will have a high school diploma, GED, or at least 1-3 months related experience.
  • Must have basic language and math skills and reasoning ability.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and ERP software. Experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX or Dynamics D365 is preferred.
  • Must be able to stand continuously for a 10 hour shift and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Vision with depth perception is required.
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures and levels of humidity.
  • Personal protective equipment will be provided by FAST and must be worn in the required areas.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX or Dynamics D365 is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Reads and interprets blueprints and machine drawings to determine specific welding requirements.
  • Connects cables from welding unit to obtain amperage, voltage, slope, and pulse, as specified by engineer.
  • Manually guides electrode or gun along weld line, maintaining length of arc and speed of movement to form specified depth of fusion and bead, as judged from color of metal, sound of weld and size of molten puddle.
  • Welds in flat, horizontal, vertical or overhead positions.
  • Examines weld for bead size and other specifications.
  • Repairs broken or cracked parts and fills holes.
  • Positions and clamps workpieces together or assembles them in jig or fixtures.
  • Selects torch, torch tip, filler ford and flux, according to welding chart specifications or type and thickness of material.
  • Tacks assemblies together.
  • Chips off excess weld, slag, and spatter.
  • Cleans or de-greases parts.
  • Move parts in and moves finished product out of welding area.
