About The Position

A Welder is a resilient and team-minded individual who is responsible for assembling metal components with precision and efficiency using various equipment and techniques. Key duties and responsibilities include: Reviewing and planning work order procedures; gathering necessary tools and materials according to instructions and specifications provided. Repairing and fabricating various items and equipment using cutting, burning, and welding techniques. Monitoring the welding, burning, and fitting process to prevent overheating or damage due to warping, distortion, expansion, or shrinkage. Prepare, assemble, and tack welding parts and surfaces to be welded. Adhering to all safety rules, best practices, and company standards. Maintaining, organizing, and cleaning equipment and work areas. Reporting faulty equipment or defective materials to supervisors when discovered. Performing other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Understanding of basic math including fractions.
  • Ability to read shop drawings.
  • Proficiency with tape measures.
  • Experience in welding metal components together.
  • Knowledge of installing and using consumables.
  • Ability to set up and operate welding units.
  • Must be able to weld components in vertical, flat, or overhead positions.
  • Manual dexterity and stability required for precision work.
  • Close-range vision for detailed work.
  • Ability to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally.
  • Capacity to traverse facilities and machinery by climbing, balancing, lifting, walking, stooping, and carrying materials.
