About The Position

Ross Engineering is an 180-year old & growing company that produces Unique and Custom Industrial Mixers used by companies all over the world for the manufacturing of paints, inks, chemicals, foods and pharmaceuticals. This Location is in Savannah GA and employs approximately 40 people operating one daytime shift M-F. Ross also has locations in Long Island New York, and Port St. Lucie FL. Job Description: Would need to be able to detail a Pressure Vessel such as mapping out angles on a head and be able to fit pipe into the cut out holes on the head of a pressure vessel with only being handed a engineering drawing. A very experienced welder with knowledge of welding on stainless steel & carbon steel with extreme precision. Will be responsible for interpreting engineering drawings, fitting and welding metal components, operating welding equipment, and ensuring the quality and integrity of welds. Will be Required to pass one or multiple ASME weld test once hired. Performs all tasks to ASME standards and requirements. Uses blueprints and design sketches to ensure the proper dimensions and tolerance levels, as well as correct components installed on the finished product Assume responsibility and care of assigned tools and equipment Welds metal parts on fixtures including attaching jigs and clamps to hold metal parts in proper position TIG & MIG. Weld materials in flat, vertical, and overhead positions once ASME weld test is pass. Cut materials using air arcs, burning rods, and acetylene/oxygen cutting torches to fit fabrication and job requirements. Problem Solving. Must be able to problem solve and make independent decisions regarding weld draws while fabricating and addressing other issues.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience of welding on Carbon Steel & Stainless Steel
  • Ability to work with precision instruments
  • Good attention to detail and organizational skills
