About The Position

Aegis Worldwide Welder 1st or 2nd SHIFT/$22-$25/hr/Contract-to-Hire Indianapolis, IN Overview: Aegis Worldwide is curently partnered with a metal fabrication manufacturer.

Requirements

• Ability to read blueprints, setup instructions, and use measuring tools such as tape measures and calipers.
• Basic math skills, including fractions, decimals, and metric measurements.
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot and solve production issues.
• Welding certification (or ability to obtain and pass weld test).
• Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in a production environment (including exposure to weld smoke).
• Strong attention to detail, hand-eye coordination, and ability to meet production demands.

Nice To Haves

• TIG welding experience on sheet metal (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate welding or production equipment using setup sheets and routing instructions.
• Perform quality inspections using measuring tools (calipers, gauges, templates) to ensure parts meet specifications.
• Monitor production runs and make adjustments to maintain quality and proper tolerances.
• Record production data, including scrap and rework, and move completed parts to the next stage.
• Assist with improving processes, updating setup sheets, and supporting new tooling or engineering initiatives.
• Participate in team meetings and corrective actions to improve quality and prevent defects.
