About The Position

Responsible for advanced welding operations in all positions, including structural and cosmetic repairs on various materials. Work areas include confined space and high position work location areas as well as High Reach access. This role supports Ride and Show Maintenance, including Animation and Special Effects, as well as all other U.O. Properties and Divisions as required.

Requirements

  • High school degree or GED is required
  • 5+ Years- required welding experience and company certification equal to 6G
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Valid Florida Driver’s license is required
  • Must be able to obtain company certificates in Stick, Mig, and Tig; on steel, stainless, aluminum, bi-metal, and other materials up to 6G within 90 days of employment

Nice To Haves

  • Technical school is preferred
  • Associate’s degree (AA) is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform weld repairs on existing ride related equipment and structures as per Engineering direction and or approved procedures.
  • Fabrication of new parts or structures and repair of broken structures in the field or shop based on conceptual drawings or manufacturing prints to meet QC standards. Types of welding include: bench assemblies using clamps and/or fixtures to avoid distortion; fabrication and high pressure on a variety of assemblies and products.
  • Perform modifications to ride vehicles as directed by Universal Engineering Department.
  • Gathers necessary information, tools and equipment to perform assigned tasks. Informs Lead or Supervisor of needed materials and update inventory levels as materials are used.
  • Fabrication and repairs to UO infrastructure and other department support. Examples of this type of work would be: assisting with repairs for Utilities, Facilities, Food equipment, etc.
  • Providing work documentation in Maximo Labor Reporting, Log Book entries, completing work orders.
  • Performs other general mechanical work while supporting the maintenance team in the assembly of weld repaired items. Maintains all related welding equipment as needed.
  • Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
