About The Position

The TIG / Laser Welder performs precision welding on medical-grade components and assemblies in a regulated manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for producing high-quality TIG (GTAW), Laser, and Micro-TIG welds that meet engineering specifications, validated process requirements, and quality system standards. The role requires strict adherence to customer specs, documentation, cleanliness, safety, and regulatory compliance to ensure product integrity and traceability.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Medical manufacturing training or certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 1–3 years of experience in TIG welding, laser welding, or micro-TIG welding for precision applications.
  • Experience in regulated manufacturing environments strongly preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, prints, and specifications.
  • Basic understanding of welding parameters and process controls.
  • Experience with documentation requirements and traceability.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with precision TIG (GTAW) welding and YAG or Fiber Laser welding CNC systems
  • Experience with using .040 and 1/16 tungsten electrodes; Along with .010-.062 alloy welding rods
  • Familiarity with ISO 13485 and (GMP) Good Manufacturing Practices
  • Ability to support cross-training and junior operators

Responsibilities

  • Perform precision TIG, Laser, and Micro-TIG welding on medical-grade materials including stainless steel, titanium, and aluminum.
  • Weld components to tight tolerances while meeting cosmetic, structural, and functional requirements using GTAW and Fiber CNC welder
  • Ability to use Mics, Calipers, and Comparators
  • Follow engineering drawings, welding procedure specifications (WPS), and work instructions.
  • Set up and adjust welding equipment, fixtures, and tooling for repeatable quality.
  • Conduct in-process visual and dimensional inspections, including microscopic inspection when required.
  • Complete required production and quality documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Comply with FDA, ISO 13485, and internal quality system requirements.
  • Identify and report nonconforming materials or process deviations.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, and quality teams to support production goals and continuous improvement.
