About The Position

WHAT YOU’LL DO As a welder, you will be responsible for the daily setup and operation of one or more robot welding machines. Operator will mainly utilize Fronius, OTC, and Dynasty welding machines. Operator will also assist other operators with any of their daily duties, including but not limited to, area housekeeping, maintenance work, and material staging. Operators will manufacture parts by following a part-specific blueprint/drawing. These drawings are defined by the engineering department in conjunction with customer drawings and specifications. This position is considered a safety sensitive position due to "the operation of a motor vehicle, other vehicle (forklift), equipment, machinery or power tools or the repairing, maintaining or monitoring the performance or operation of any equipment, machinery or manufacturing process, the malfunction or disruption of which could result in injury or property damage”.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Works well individually or within a team.
  • Ability to read drawings, blueprints and specifications.
  • Must understand work orders, work instructions, as well as verbal instruction.
  • Must understand the quality requirements for multiple customers.
  • Great attention to detail.
  • Ability to use handheld measuring tools to confirm product conformance.
  • Knows when to seek clarification on problems.
  • Must have a basic understanding of industry standard weld symbols.
  • Experienced with material specific factors that contribute to overall weld quality, penetration, porosity, etc....
  • Excellent attendance.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical certification a plus
  • Previous experience with industry standard welding equipment, fixturing, and related tooling a plus.
  • Previous welding experience utilizing MIG (metal inert gas) weld mild and stainless steel and TIG (tungsten inert gas) weld aluminum techniques preferred
  • Experience with ABB/OTC welding robots and mig welding techniques preferred

Responsibilities

  • Staff and operate assigned machinery to facilitate production needs.
  • Stage raw materials at designated work center
  • Load and unload machines.
  • Use handheld tools/gauges to confirm in-process part conformance.
  • Skid in-process parts in a manner that provides protection from damage.
  • Ensure production identification and traceability.
  • Conduct operator level maintenance when required.
  • Must adhere to all safety regulations and company policies.
  • Other duties as assigned.
