About The Position

Royal Waste Services, a Waste Connections Company, is looking to add a Welder to our growing maintenance team. Our priority is to hire skilled welders who prioritize safety—for our drivers, our equipment, and the communities we serve. As a welder with us the minimum responsibilities are: Perform welding and fabrication on dumpsters and containers, with occasional work on truck bodies and intermodal trailer containers Drive a company flatbed vehicle to pick up parts or containers (no CDL required) Use wire feed MIG welders, plasma cutters, and torches for repair and fabrication Paint containers using rollers and brushes (no spray painting involved) Lift and move heavy materials; must lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted (cranes and forklifts available) Operate a propane-powered forklift (5000 lb. capacity) and telehandler forklift -certification provided after hire Work closely with a small, two-person team—communication and teamwork are essential Prioritize safety on the job by following all safety protocols and procedures Waste Connections is an integrated solid waste services company that provides solid waste collection, transfer, disposal and recycling services in mostly exclusive and secondary markets. Requirements

  • Welding experience (formal training not required—backyard welding is welcome)
  • Experience with MIG welding and common fabrication tools
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. unassisted and work safely around heavy equipment
  • Comfortable working in both outdoor and indoor shop environments
  • Team-oriented with strong communication skills
  • Forklift experience is a plus (certification provided after hire)
  • Reliable, self-motivated, and safety-conscious
  • Tools are not required to start, but employees are expected to build their toolset using the monthly tool allowance
