Job Summary The Substation Welder maintains and performs repairs, modifications, replacements and installations of a wide variety of low and high voltage electrical and electronic equipment and systems for both existing facilities, new acquisitions and those under renovation, and includes equipment that is either fixed or portable. This role supports the construction of new Substations as well as modifications, and upgrades of existing Substations for Electrical Utility Companies throughout Florida. This is a traveling role that requires working in different job sites all over the state of Florida. Per diem is provided when applicable.

Requirements

  • Must be willing to travel around Florida.
  • Must have Tig Welding experience.

  • OSHA 10.
  • 6G certified.

Responsibilities

  • Develops welding plan by analyzing print specs and determining appropriate welding techniques.
  • Maintains safe work environment by following procedures and complying with safety standards.
  • Constructs components by using equipment to cut, clean, and weld after setting-up and measuring assemblies and selecting appropriate method.
  • Verifies welding results by inspecting and testing welds.
  • Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, and performing preventive maintenance.
  • Other duties as assigned by Management.
