Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; advanced degree in similar fields is a plus.
  • At least 2 years of experience in welding or a related field.
  • Proficiency in MIG, TIG, Stick, and Flux-core welding, including Aluminum welding.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with ASME code welding.
  • Familiarity with safety and health regulations in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Work from process sheets, procedures, standards, route cards, CETL, and written and verbal instructions.
  • Receive and maintain identity of released components.
  • Store and maintain identity/traceability of weld and weld wire.
  • Devise and set up tooling and fixtures as needed to produce acceptable products.
  • Comply with all plant work rules, regulations, and specific instructions.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area and assist in performing maintenance of the work area.
  • Ensure proper functioning of equipment and maintain all tooling and equipment according to standard shop practices.
  • Perform shop fabrication tasks and welding processes as directed.
  • Conduct maintenance/repair activities at nuclear sites.
  • Properly handle hazardous materials.
  • Perform rigging and material handling tasks.
  • Support other business units during lull periods of production, which may include travel to nuclear sites.
  • Play an active role in creating a safe and healthy workplace and comply with all applicable safety and health rules.
