About The Position

Requirements

  • Two to four years of welding experience or equivalent combination of experience and/or education.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of welding techniques (oxygen-acetylene, electric arc 'Stick', TIG, and MIG).
  • Basic understanding of Algebra and Geometry.
  • Forklift driving skills.
  • Computer skills.

Responsibilities

  • Design, fabricate, join, and/or repair equipment, fixtures and various types of metal objects and structures using oxygen-acetylene and MIG welding techniques.
  • Operate drill presses, power saws, grinders, and a variety of welding equipment and hand tools.
  • Analyze plans, drawings, work samples, specifications, and work orders to determine work requirements and sequence of welding assignments.
  • Recommend supplies and materials to be ordered.
  • Work in the prefabrication shop and on site if required.
  • Ensure housekeeping in the prefab shop is under control.
  • Prepare and pack boxes to be filled with completed prefab material and shipped to the jobsite.
  • Fabricate plugs and switches, recessed cans, and other repetitive work.
  • Perform duties as assigned by lead people.
  • Other duties as may be assigned.
