Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
  • Basic Math skills required.
  • GMAW (Spray Arc Transfer) welding experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform production within prescribed codes and according to prescribed procedures, specifications, and drawings.
  • Complete Welder Training Program by passing a GMAW 2G qualification weld test that meets visual and bend testing acceptance criteria.
  • Administer a 2F Evaluation to determine skillset and knowledge base before being offered the Welder Trainee position.
  • Knowledge of general safety guidelines and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Work independently with minimal supervision on assignments and display a strong sense of ownership for work.
  • Be flexible and adaptable, with the ability to readily switch tasks when directed.
  • Learn Sabre's quality expectations and application in the workplace during onboarding and On the Job Training.
  • Have a basic understanding of blueprints and weld symbols.
  • Adjust welding machines within parameters of welding procedure specifications (WPS).
  • Frequently push, pull, and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Use oxy-fuel torch to pre-heat parts to be welded in accordance with welding procedure specifications (WPS).
  • Use GMAW welding process to weld small components or assemblies.
  • Use chipping hammer, wire brush, and grinders to clean weld joints and finished welds.
  • Use magnetic drills to drill various size holes on pole assembly as required by drawings.
  • Visually inspect work to ensure that welds comply with applicable drawings and code requirements.
  • Use a weld gauge to measure weld sizes, with proper usage taught during training.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by Supervisor and/or Management as knowledge base increases.
  • Maintain regular and on-time attendance and a positive attitude.
  • Work in your shift as scheduled and get along with coworkers.
