About The Position

General Job Summary: In addition to performing all phases of the TIG weld function, sets-up machinery, tools and parts for job completion. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Refers to production Manufacturing Process Control Document (MPCD) for job specifics. Sets up and runs jobs as required. Resolves problems with job as required. Assists in the resolution of production, quality, and engineering issues. Ensures machines are maintained per safety and quality standards. Assists with other duties as assigned by supervisor/ manager.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • 2-3 years related experience or training
  • Understanding and ability to use quality inspection equipment (calipers, height stand, protractor).
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to wear a respirator, as required.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or Associates of organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to stand; walk; sit; maneuver through the office and factory; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; grasping and twisting; talk or hear; lift and/or move equipment/product weighing up to 50 pounds. Work with another associate to lift anything greater than 50lbs.
  • Regularly exposed to extreme heat; extreme cold; wet and/or humid conditions.
  • Noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

Nice To Haves

  • One year certificate from college or technical school preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • MIG/TIG Welding certification preferred.
