About The Position

The Welder position at PowerSecure involves the fabrication and timely production of steel parts, focusing on quality and adherence to specifications. The role requires expertise in various welding techniques, including GMAW and MIG welding, as well as proficiency in operating cutting and grinding equipment. The welder will work independently and collaboratively, ensuring safety and quality standards are met while producing components for various structures.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of welding experience for level II.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and apply a WPS.
  • Capable of passing a steel plate GMAW fillet visual test in the 2F position, 1G GMAW test.
  • Skilled in setting up oxyfuel and plasma torches for clean cuts.
  • Advanced ability to comprehend and interpret sketches and blueprints.
  • Certified in the use of overhead cranes and fork trucks.
  • Ability to accurately read measuring devices such as tape measures and gauges.
  • Track record of consistent and timely attendance.
  • Ability to cooperate with a team and take directions from supervisors.
  • Competent in determining the completeness and correctness of own work.
  • Solid understanding of weld joints and weld symbols.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with digital equipment including computers and PLCs.
  • Familiarity with routine machine maintenance and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

  • Fabricate and produce steel parts according to specifications.
  • Perform GMAW and MIG welding on various components.
  • Grind and finish parts as required.
  • Set up and operate oxyfuel and plasma torches for cutting materials.
  • Interpret engineering documents and blueprints for fabrication tasks.
  • Maintain welding equipment and perform routine maintenance.
  • Follow safety procedures and advise others on safety practices.
  • Work independently or as part of a team to complete tasks.
  • Operate various machinery including band saws and ironworkers.
