About The Position

Safely perform a full range of journey level, complex skilled welding and complete minor maintenance and repair of mobile and stationary equipment. Respond to field emergencies and perform on-site repairs. This hourly, non-exempt position will work under indirect supervision from the Shop Superintendent or Shop Leader. This is a part-time position,working less than 1,000 hours. Essential Functions: Safely perform all essential functions. Use welding and flame-cutting equipment to perform skilled technical welding and fabricating duties on stationary and mobile equipment. Assemble and disassemble equipment if necessary to complete welding projects. Proactively communicate with Leaders and Equipment Operators concerning equipment and job-related projects. Respond to field emergencies and perform on-site repairs. Occasionally operate various vehicles and heavy equipment. Consistently work on personal growth plan. Exercise proper care and maintenance of company equipment. Perform additional assignments per supervisor’s direction.

Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license for state in which you reside with acceptable driving record per company minimum standards for drivers.
  • Must possess basic set of hand tools to do mechanical work.
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to complete minor maintenance tasks.
  • Ability to work at heights.
  • Ability to climb on and off equipment safely.
  • Ability to work in shop/field environments with exposure to heat, hazardous welding equipment and inclement weather conditions.
  • Ability to bend, kneel, or squat to reach repair areas.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment.

Nice To Haves

  • Prefer welding certificates.
  • Prefer completion of formalized training in welding, fabrication or related field.
  • Minimum of three years of welding experience preferred.
