Description Skills and Abilities: Ability to: - Perform all essential duties. - Meet all requirements of and perform as a senior level Welder. - Must pass 6G test required with NDT and X-ray. - Demonstrate leadership skills, promote and support safety, production, and positive attitude. - Monitor the work of and train assigned team to ensure quality and timeliness. - Demonstrate good communication and interpersonal skills and effective communication with customers and inspectors to explain issues or answer any questions about a project. - Work closely and communicate with other departments regarding incoming and outgoing units and parts. - Ability to determine and provided projected work hours for project completion. - Assist in scheduling work hours for assigned team based on budget, skills, and expertise required on a project. - Recommend training to personnel to provide the skills necessary to meet the demands of the area. - Working knowledge of using an Aluminum spool gun for common repair of compression components. - Effectively complete competing tasks. Knowledge: - Advanced knowledge of metal core mig, tig, fluxcore, Sub-arc or stick welding process. - Advanced knowledge of different types and sizes of pipe, structural, and vessel materials. - Advanced knowledge of flame and plasma cutting as well as a gouger. - Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook - Working knowledge of NG Compression pipe fitting / routing. - Working ability to read and interpret PIDs and GA drawings. Minimum Education and Certification: - High school diploma or equivalent. - Welding training or equivalent on-the-job-training preferred. - Pipe or plate welding certification if required in assigned facility. - Must provide own welding hood, chipping hammer, and wire cutting pliers- Pipe or plate welding certification if required in assigned facility. Minimum Experience: - Typically 7 years related experience and/or training. Leadership: - Frequently leads, monitors and checks work of at least 3 welders. - Trains team members to improve skill, productivity, safety, quality and processes. - Gives input for hire, fire, and job changes. - Gives input for performance review, discipline and issues. Physical Demands: (Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions) - Must be fit for duty for the job tasks being performed. - Must meet the medical requirements necessary to wear PPE required by role (includes respiratory protection medical requirements as required by role). - Constantly required to stand, display good manual dexterity and to reach with hands and arms. - Frequently required to talk and hear. - Frequently required to walk with good balance. - Regularly required to lift, move and carry up to 50 pounds and to push and pull up to 90 pounds. - Occasionally required to stoop, twist, kneel, and squat. - Vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Problem Solving and Innovation: - Requires no help and covers most difficult situations for assigned shop operations. - Provides solutions to a diverse scope and range of technical, operational and people problems. - Solutions frequently require evaluation of variable factors, new approaches, planning and resourcefulness. - Expected to regularly identify opportunities and to provide ideas, methods and innovations to enhance teamwork, efficiency and quality within the scope of role. Impact: - Actions and decisions impact operational, and financial, results of assigned bay areas. - Accountable for team's HSE performance, service quality, and customer satisfaction . - No budget responsibilities, but is expected to be aware of decisions that impact the budget in assigned area and how to impact positively. - Recommends overtime.
