Welder Level 2/3 (Night Shift)
About The Position
Responsible for the safe and efficient fabrication of steel products. The Welder II is a mid-level welding position, with all work being completed with some supervision. ESSENTIAL POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES Embrace and demonstrate the qualities of the TrueNorth Steel Game Changer definition. Follow all company safety and quality requirements. Mastered all aspects of level 1 position Qualified in welding disciplines required for the facility Able to work on semi routine assignments Requires minimal help from supervisor on new tasks Shows initiative to recognize areas of opportunity within current standard procedures Maintains technical qualifications required for positions Prompt and dependable attendance. Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Exhibit knowledge of material identification, equipment utilization and welding equipment set-up and maintenance.
- Fits and welds subassemblies into final position with flat or horizontal welds
- Accurately measures to specified tolerances
- Performs flat and horizontal welding
- Advanced knowledge of weld symbols
- Basic oxy fuel and/or carbon arcing
- Able to final inspect welds
- Able to do basic Layouts
- Understand and follow oral and written directions.
- Ability to read a tape measure (imperial and metric).
- Ability to work with others.
- Ability to work safely and accurately.
- Ability to accept responsibility and account for his/her actions.
- Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly.
- Ability to be truthful and be seen as credible in the workplace.
- Ability to make decisions or take actions to solve a problem or reach a goal.
- The trait of being dependable and trustworthy.
- High School diploma or GED required.
- 2+ years of welding experience preferred.
