About The Position

As a Welder here at Honeywell, you will be responsible for working on a team of welders and ensuring the quality and efficiency of welding operations. You will report directly to our Welding Supervisor, and you'll work out of our Palmetto, FL location. In this role, you will be responsible for performing various welding tasks, conducting inspections, and maintaining welding equipment, all while adhering to the highest quality and safety standards. Your technical expertise and attention to detail will significantly contribute to overall success of our business. This position requires training on 1st shift (7:00am-3:00pm) for an initial period of approximately 4-6 months. Upon successful completion of training, you may choose to transition to either 2nd shift (3:00pm-11:00pm) or 3rd shift (11:00pm - 7:00am). The starting pay is $23.30/hr + off shift pay differential

Requirements

  • 1+ years of experience with semi-automatic and manual welding processes such as GTAW, GMAW, and FCAW on materials such as aluminum and stainless steel.
  • Strong knowledge of welding techniques and equipment, aluminum welding experience is required.
  • Ability to read and interpret welding blueprints and specifications; familiarity with AWS welding symbols is required.
  • Basic understanding of math, geometry, and angles; adept in using the metric system.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team and maintain a fast-paced work environment.
  • Willingness to work at heights, in confined spaces, and lift up to 30 lbs.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical certification in welding or a related field.
  • Candidates who have graduated from welding school are encouraged to apply.
  • Experience in pressure vessel manufacturing according to ASME code.
  • Knowledge of pipe fitting and welding in accordance with B31.3 Process piping code.
  • NDE experience (e.g., penetrant testing)
  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct welding operations in accordance with specifications and industry standards, ensuring compliance with quality requirements.
  • Perform fitting, cutting, and grinding operations as necessary.
  • Inspect welds for defects, maintaining high-quality workmanship.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot welding equipment to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Follow established safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements.
  • Mentor and train junior welders to enhance their skills and ensure quality standards are met.
