About The Position

The Welder I position at Voith Paper involves fabricating metal materials using various welding techniques. The role requires interpreting blueprints and specifications to determine the appropriate welding processes while ensuring compliance with safety standards in a hazardous environment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proficiency in blueprint reading and basic math skills.
• Ability to work from pre-established guidelines such as routings to perform job functions.
• 1-3 years of welding and/or fabrication experience or currently enrolled in a welding program.

Responsibilities

• Perform all job requirements according to procedures outlined in the VOITH Quality Manual, Company Procedures, and Work Instructions.
• Report problems to higher levels of authority as required by the Quality System.
• Confer with Engineers, production personnel, or others as needed to satisfactorily resolve quality problems.
• Perform basic MIG and TIG welding techniques.
• Work independently and operate overhead crane, tow motor, and various hand tools.
• Grind materials as necessary.
