This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities. We are seeking a skilled TIG Welder (Level One) to join our nozzle fabrication team. This position focuses on precision TIG welding of nozzle assemblies, with particular emphasis on thin-wall components. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong attention to detail, technical aptitude, and the ability to perform consistent, high-quality welds according to detailed specifications.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • TIG/GTAW welding certification or completion of welding technical program
  • 0-2 years of TIG welding experience
  • Basic knowledge of welding metallurgy and parameters
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and welding symbols
  • Demonstrated manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
  • Strong attention to detail and quality focus
  • Physical ability to work in various positions (standing, bending, lifting)
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality

  • Required for Certain Job Profiles: Drivers who operate Commercial Motor Vehicles with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW), Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) or combination of power unit and trailer that meets or exceeds 10,001 lbs. and/or transports placardable amounts of hazardous materials by ground in any vehicle on a public road while in commerce, may be subject to additional Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations including: Driver Qualification Files, Medical Certification (obtained before onboarding), Road Test, Hours of Service, Drug and Alcohol Testing (CDL drivers only), vehicle inspection requirements, CDL requirements (if applicable) and hazardous materials transportation/shipping training.
  • Required for certain Job Profiles: Ability to obtain and maintain Merchant Mariner Credential, which includes pre-employment and random drug testing as well as DOT physical

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with automated welding systems or orbital welding equipment
  • Experience welding thin-wall materials (0.065" thickness)
  • Experience with Haynes alloys or similar high-performance nickel-based materials
  • Previous experience in aerospace, defense, or precision manufacturing
  • AWS certification
  • Knowledge of weld inspection techniques and quality standards
  • Experience with specialty metals (Inconel, titanium, stainless steel)
  • Basic computer skills for documentation purposes

Responsibilities

  • Perform precision TIG (GTAW) welding on nozzle components and assemblies
  • Set up and operate welding equipment according to detailed work instructions
  • Maintain consistent weld quality on thin-wall components
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, welding symbols, and specifications
  • Complete required documentation for all welding operations
  • Perform visual inspection of welds to ensure quality standards are met
  • Maintain welding equipment in proper working condition
  • Follow all safety protocols and procedures
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Collaborate with quality control personnel for weld inspections
