About The Position

Perform routine welding work on HVAC units according to blueprints, company standards and applicable standards to meet inspection criteria in accordance with defined requirements. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: Executes routine welding tasks on HVAC units. Ability to set up and maintain welding machine (tip, liner, changes, etc.) and weld vertical, horizontal, and overhead. Inspect welds for cracks, burn through and weld spatter. Use basic hand, electric, cordless, and pneumatic tools, as required. Grind and clean areas where required. Stay current in TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) and basic mechanical adjustments on all equipment as needed. Follow hazardous waste disposal program and fire prevention procedures.

Requirements

Highschool diploma or GED preferred.
1-3 years’ experience as a welder.
Ability to read and use a tape measure for precise measurements.
Ability to read and understand blueprints, as well as weld symbols.
Process knowledge and experience to set up, adjust, and maintain welding machines.
Ability to communicate professionally and follow directions.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Must be able to pass the required welding certification test.

Nice To Haves

Welding Certifications preferred but not required
Prior work experience with Lean Manufacturing processes preferred.
