About The Position

The position involves running production processes in accordance with safety and quality standards while continuously improving these processes to meet business demands. The role requires the use of hand welding and flame cutting equipment to assemble metal components and perform brazing tasks. The candidate will be expected to actively participate in team meetings, report deviations, and suggest improvements to standard operating procedures.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED minimum.
• Experience with soldering, brazing, or welding.
• Minimum of six months experience in brazing or technical certification in brazing.
• 2-3 years of experience in manufacturing.
• Ability to read drawings, blueprints, and manufacturing orders.
• Intermediate computer skills.

Nice To Haves

• Crane and Forklift certifications.

Responsibilities

• Accurate and consistent use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required by specific processes.
• Receive daily work assignments from the Team Leader/Team Manager and execute production based on Standard Operating Procedures.
• Report any deviations related to safety, quality, parts, or equipment to the Status Boards immediately and update the Team Leader/Team Manager.
• Engage in Daily Status Board Meetings by explaining deviations and proposing solutions.
• Review and suggest improvements for Standard Operating Procedures.
• Identify waste elimination opportunities in areas such as time, motion, transportation, and inventories, and drive KAIZEN improvements.
• Perform common welding work, applying heat to bond or fuse metal surfaces according to Welding Procedure Specifications (WPSs).
• Inspect existing weldments to identify areas of weakness.
• Use welding equipment for metal cutting/trimming work or to fabricate simple fixtures.
• Possess at least one welder approval certificate according to relevant standards/codes.
• Execute production work according to ALPS standards and participate in continuous improvements.
