This position is responsible for the general fabrication of mechanical parts. This position may also be asked to use pneumatic or electric hand tools to perform such tasks as deburr or surface prep of metal parts. This position must be able to follow both written and verbal work instructions as well as interface with the enterprise time keeping system as well as interface with machine controls. This position must also be able to use and read basic machine shop measuring equipment that includes, but may not be limited to dial calipers, tape measures, and protractors. Operate hand-welding equipment to join metal components, or to fill holes, indentations, or seams of fabricated metal products Ability to read work orders, blueprints, instructions, formulas, and/or processing charts to ensure precise and accurate welding in agreement with the customer’s design specifications Identify non-conformances during inspection of component parts and properly document such non-conformances. Communicate and problem solve with others in a reasonable and professional manner and work effectively in a team environment Maintain and keep welding equipment in good working order - free of debris and perform proper maintenance Maintain clean equipment, tools, and work area Follow established safety procedures and work safely all day Follow all relative ISO 9000 procedures Record an accurate log of job times and specifications for audit report
