Requirements

  • Able to weld according to required specifications
  • Able to pass welding test
  • DOT Medical Card - If driving company vehicle
  • Valid Driver's License
  • The physical activity required for this role includes: Moving around, under, and over pipes Moving over uneven and variable terrain or in confined spaces Enter and exit trenches by either a ladder or a ramp Exposure to a wide range of weather conditions, including hot and cold weather Exposure to loud work environments Standing, sitting, or walking for long periods of time Other repetitive movements, such as kneeling, crawling, climbing, and reaching Repeatedly lifting heavy loads (up to 50 lbs.) Correctly wearing protective gear
  • Pass pre-employment drug screen and background check

Responsibilities

  • Develop working knowledge of dozens of methods used for welding a variety of materials and components
  • Follow safety protocol, including wearing heat resistant gloves, a protective mask, and safety glasses
  • Inspect equipment and structures,
  • Follow sketches and specifications
  • Able to weld on pipe from any position (i.e., standing, kneeling, lying down on side or back, and in all these positions from a scaffold)
  • Handle and use portable electric or air grinders and buffers, pre-heating equipment and hand wire brushes
  • Secure work site at the end of each shift to ensure public safety and safety of equipment and materials
  • Complete all required written tests, hands-on training, and Operator Qualification modules
  • Other duties assigned
