About The Position

The Welder Helper position is designed to assist welder(s) in securing components together to ensure accurate welds. This role will also involve working as a member of the project's labor force when not directly engaged in welding support.

Requirements

• One year of industrial/construction/general labor experience
• OSHA 10 Certification Preferred

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of material for welding by cutting or grinding using pipe cutters, hammer and chisel, cutting torch, and/or grinder
• Set material in stands, racks, hoists, etc. for welding
• Perform tasks assigned by Welder or Foreman's
• Buff and/or grind as needed for Welder
• Follow oral and written directions
• Assist in cleaning worksite after workday is over
• Learn proper use & maintenance of various tools
• Follow all MEC's policies and procedures
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor as needed
