NOTE: this position will be working a 4 day/10-hour schedule, Monday – Thursday from 2pm-12:30am. Possible OT on Friday and Saturday. Set up, fit, clamp, bolt or tack-weld parts and subassemblies for diversified assemblies of somewhat complex design. Perform burning, scarfing, grinding, straightening and reforming of components as needed to fit and align parts. Plan and layout erection procedures and sequences for special, complicated shot-run products with participation of lead-person and/or Supervisor. Perform welding, including set up and adjustment, using MIG, TIG, arc, subarc, plasma and single- and dual-head automatic welding machine equipment. Maintain proper dimension, contour, fit, alignment and weld quality (including NDT inspection) by monitoring own work using proper gauges, fixtures, etc. Assist supervisor in prescribing and testing weld procedures as needed. Perform all of above in accordance with drawings, sketches, specifications, ASME section IX standards and other instructions.
