Job Description: Welding & Fabrication: · Perform MIG and TIG welding on a variety of materials including steel, stainless steel, and aluminum. · Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols. · Fabricate components using saws, grinders, press brakes, and other metalworking equipment. · Ensure welds meet required specifications and tolerances. Assembly & Fit-Up: · Lay out and fit parts and assemblies according to shop drawings. · Use clamps, fixtures, and jigs to hold workpieces in place for welding or assembly. · Operate hand tools and power tools to grind, deburr, and finish parts. Quality Control: · Inspect completed welds for defects, porosity, or structural weakness. · Participate in in-process inspections to ensure work meets dimensional and quality requirements. · Follow company quality procedures and report any deviations or issues to supervision. Safety & Housekeeping: · Adhere to all company and OSHA safety guidelines, including PPE and hot work protocols. · Keep work area clean and organized to promote a safe and efficient workspace. · Report unsafe conditions, equipment malfunctions, or hazards immediately. Collaboration & Communication: · Work closely with engineers, production managers, and other team members to meet deadlines and quality expectations. · Communicate issues or improvements that could affect production flow or product quality. · Participate in team meetings and contribute to continuous improvement efforts. Qualifications & Skills Education: · High school diploma or GED required. · Welding certifications (AWS, etc.) preferred but not required if you can lay down clean beads. Experience: · 2–5 years of experience in metal fabrication or welding environment. · Ability to operate fabrication tools and machinery (press brake, shear, grinders, etc.). · Proficiency in MIG and/or TIG welding processes. Technical Skills: · Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and weld symbols. · Basic math skills for measuring and calculating tolerances. · Familiarity with fabrication layout, fixturing, and material handling. Soft Skills: · Strong work ethic and attention to detail. · Team-oriented with a positive, can-do attitude. · Self-motivated and able to manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment. Physical Requirements · Ability to stand, bend, and lift throughout the work shift. · Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted. · Tolerance to heat, noise, and fabrication environment conditions.
