About The Position

National Salvage and Service is looking for a skilled Welder/Fabricator to join the Fleet Division in Bloomington, IN. This role involves working for a sustainable company that focuses on recycling salvaged materials such as railroad ties and utility poles.

Requirements

• Self-motivated individual capable of meeting deadlines
• Minimum 3 years of experience in Mig and stick welding
• Ability to work independently for extended periods
• Comfort working in noisy, non-air-conditioned/heated environments
• Proficiency in reading measuring tools like tape measures
• Experience with torches and plasma cutters for cutting
• Proficiency with Mig and stick welding techniques

Responsibilities

• Adhere to all safety policies to maintain a safe work environment
• Produce high-quality welds according to specifications
• Prepare materials for welding by cutting and grinding to precise measurements
• Keep work areas clean, organized, and maintain equipment properly
• Monitor equipment performance and request maintenance as needed
• Minimize scrap and waste, effectively using supplies
• Meet or exceed production level requirements through manual tasks
