About The Position

The Welding Technician II is responsible for welding and fabricating manufactured products according to blueprints, technical drawings, and project specifications. This role requires expertise in various welding techniques, precision, and a strong commitment to quality and safety.

Requirements

Minimum of 2 years of welding experience, preferably in a custom manufacturing environment.
Proficiency in MIG and TIG welding, as well as experience with plasma cutters, grinders, and other fabrication tools.
Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Ability to produce high-quality welds with precision.
Must be able to perform welding tasks in a variety of positions and environments, including working from ladders, elevated platforms, confined spaces, kneeling, crouching, lying down, overhead, and other non-standard positions as required by the project.
Must be able to traverse facilities and machinery by climbing, balancing, lifting, bending, walking, stooping, and carrying materials.
Must have enough manual dexterity and stability as required for precision work.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. repeatedly.
Must be able to see details at close range.

Nice To Haves

Welding certifications (AWS, ASME, or equivalent) are a plus.

Responsibilities

Welding & Fabrication: Perform MIG and TIG welding on a variety of metals, including stainless steel, aluminum, and carbon steel, to manufacture custom HVAC components.
Blueprint Reading: Interpret and work from blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders to ensure precise welding and fabrication.
Metal Preparation: Cut, grind, and prepare metal surfaces before welding to ensure strong, clean welds.
Quality Control: Inspect and test welds to ensure they meet company and industry standards, making adjustments as needed.
Equipment Maintenance: Maintain welding machines, tools, and other equipment to ensure proper operation and longevity.
Safety Compliance: Follow all company and OSHA safety procedures, including wearing proper PPE and maintaining a clean and organized work area.
Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, fabricators, and assembly teams to ensure efficient production and high-quality custom HVAC products.
Problem-Solving: Identify and troubleshoot welding and fabrication issues, offering solutions to improve production efficiency and quality.
ERP System: Accurately and consistently use the company's ERP system to document work time, inventory usage, job progress, and any other required information in a timely manner.
