About The Position

Watson Metal Masters is seeking a skilled Welder/Fabricator to join their production team. This role is crucial for interpreting blueprints and ensuring high-quality welding of stainless-steel tanks. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in welding, particularly with stainless steel, and will be responsible for adhering to safety regulations while delivering precise work.

Requirements

• High school diploma preferred but not required.
• Valid certification in welding from an accredited institution is preferred.
• At least 3-5 years' experience fabricating and welding with the ability to weld with MIG and TGAW stainless steel.
• Experience in ASME shop is a plus.
• Ability to fabricate and polish stainless steel.
• Forklift training is preferred.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to follow through on assignments.
• Understanding of safety standards, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Dependable and trustworthy with strong interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with overhead cranes and hand tools.
• Ability to problem solve and troubleshoot.
• Excellent attention to detail and concern for quality.

Responsibilities

• Interpret blueprints, drawings, and measurements to plan layouts.
• Weld small and large components.
• Assess welded surfaces, structures, and components to identify errors.
• Follow and enforce strict safety regulations, including always wearing appropriate PPE.
• Weld components in flat, vertical, and overhead positions.
• Examine weld for bead size and other specifications.
• Ability to work in confined spaces.
• Perform 60% code work, including passing 6G code test, pulse test, and ASME Certification.
• May perform other duties as assigned to assist the Watson team.
