About The Position

The position involves using standard work instructions and blueprints to fabricate and assemble metal structures. The role requires visually inspecting weld quality and performing efficient welding of various metal objects using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in different positions such as vertical, horizontal, or overhead. Additional responsibilities include reworking and repairing welded parts according to engineering specifications, completing run out checks, fitting wheels and fans with limited supervision, and maintaining weld machines through preventative maintenance methods. The employee is expected to maintain good housekeeping and clean work areas while adhering to the company's core values. Additional duties may be assigned based on location and product line.

Requirements

• Typically requires a high school diploma and up to 2 years of experience
• Read and understand shop orders and blueprints, safety rules, standard work instructions
• Ability to read and comprehend all weld symbols
• Complete documentation and work in a timely manner
• Ability to use hand tools in a safe and proper manner as well as read a tape measure
• May be required to operate a forklift, overhead crane, and electric pallet jack based on department

Responsibilities

• Use standard work instructions and blueprints when available
• Visually inspect weld quality
• Fabricate and assemble metal structures
• Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal, or overhead)
• Perform efficient welding of various metal objects with the help of gas torch and welder
• Rework and/or repair welded parts and products according to engineering specification changes
• Complete run out checks
• Fit Wheels and Fans with limited supervision
• Maintain weld machines using preventative maintenance methods
• Maintain good housekeeping and clean work areas in assigned space
