About The Position

The successful candidate will be responsible for producing code-compliant welds and braze on structural components, primarily using carbon steel and non-ferrous. · Manage Large Workload: Demonstrate a self-starting attitude and ability to work independently to maintain high productivity and keep up with a large, fast-paced fabrication schedule. · Perform GMAW (MIG) and GTAW (TIG) welding in all positions (3G/4G) on structural beams, columns, and plates. · Perform industrial brazing operations according to procedural specifications. · Read and interpret complex blueprints, welding/brazing symbols, and WPS/BPS (Welding/Brazing Procedure Specifications). Shutterstock · Lay out, fit, and align components to close tolerances before joining. · Use grinding and cutting equipment (torch, plasma cutter) safely and efficiently. · Maintain accurate documentation of continuity logs and quality checks. · Adhere strictly to AWS D1.1 (Welding) and relevant AWS B2.2 (Brazing) code requirements and all company safety policies.

Requirements

  • Personal Drive: Must be a self-motivated, results-oriented individual capable of prioritizing tasks and managing a high-volume workload with minimal supervision.
  • Welding Certification: Current or easily renewable certification to AWS D1.1 Structural Welding Code - Steel is mandatory.
  • Brazing Certification: Prior qualification or the ability to qualify under AWS B2.2 (Specification for Brazing Procedure and Performance Qualification) is required.
  • Process Proficiency: Demonstrated experience and qualification in: o GMAW (MIG) and GTAW (TIG) welding. o Industrial Brazing techniques.
  • Material: Proven experience joining Non-ferrous and Carbon Steel (e.g., A36, A572 Grade 50,4140) components.
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years of professional structural joining experience.
  • Physical: Must be able to lift to 50 lbs. and work comfortably in all required positions. Potential hazard exposures may include: cuts and abrasions from using hand tools, cuts from metals, heavy lifting, fumes and/or airborne particles, pinch points near machinery, extreme temperatures, slip and fall hazards.
