Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent with a minimum of 1 year experience.
  • Must have a strong attendance record
  • Must have excellent interpersonal communication skills
  • Must be able to work hours outside of the regular shift
  • Must have good mechanical aptitude
  • Must be able to wear a respirator
  • The position requires ascending, descending stairs, standing for extended periods, bending, squatting, twisting, overhead reach, and lifting up to 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of hand and machine fusion welding ( Mig and Tig) operations to construct powder containers at a higher skill level.
  • Perform routine maintenance work on equipment with little to no supervision to optimize uptime.
  • Prepare all parts to be fitted together for fabrication, i.e., grinding, polishing, and cleaning
  • Fabrication of stainless steel extrusion cans
  • Sealing and preparing cans for shipment
  • Comply with all company rules and regulations outlined in the employee handbook.
  • May be required to carry out tasks not specifically listed, within the scope and skill level of this position in support of department objectives and to develop one’s skills
  • Support the cell’s continuous improvement and all CORE and EH&S initiatives, including wearing required personal protective equipment
  • Basic level computer skills (General use of Microsoft Office)
  • Clear understanding of shop mathematics involving decimals and fractions.
  • Requires a working knowledge of fusion welding processes and terminology.
  • Ability to work alone with little to no supervision
  • Ability to problem solve minor fabrication & equipment issues
