They typically operate subarc machines to complete circumferential and longitudinal welds on tanks, heat exchanger shells and nozzles. This role welds using gas metal arc welding (GMAW) and flux cored arc welding (FCAW) processes on fillet joints and groove joints without backing. Measures of success: Full understanding of relevant Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and the ability to follow all parameters within. Timely completion of all welding operations within the operational time limits and according to Taco’s quality protocols. Capability of fillet and groove welds with the use of backing in both the horizontal and flat positions.
