Come join our journey, and experience what it means to be Done Right with Rhoads . We are currently looking for Welder – Apprentices to join our dynamic, fast-paced, and growing team. The Welder – Apprentice is an entry level position engaged in actively learning and development of practical welding skills under the guidance of Rhoads experienced professional instructors. Apprenticeship program is a structured combination of hands-on welding lab time, related classroom instruction, and on-the-job training and, with the goal of apprentices becoming a fully qualified welder. Hourly Pay: $23/hr

Requirements

  • Must be a graduate of a career and technical education welding program
  • Must be 18 years old at date of hire
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Must be able to pass a Drug & Alcohol prescreening
  • Must pass all background checks.
  • Must have introductory exposure and training to various AWS welding procedures
  • Must possess current OSHA 10 certification or ability to achieve within 90 days of employment
  • Current driver’s license and reliable transportation preferred

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred candidates have welding certifications in GMAW, FCAW, GTAW, SMAW

Responsibilities

  • Documented training in AWS, ASME, or related welding procedures
  • Perform welding using GMAW, FCAW, GTAW. SMAW welding processes
  • Perform prep, grinding, welding and polish functions as required
  • Act with a safety-first mindset, alerting supervisor, or others to potential hazards
  • Must have basic math skills, with preference for those who have experience interpreting welding symbols
  • Read and understand work packages, drawings, and blueprints
  • Ability to learn and use various measuring equipment
  • Inspect own work to assure it meets product specifications, shop packages and is compliant before QA review
  • Responsible for cleanup and order of work area
  • Must demonstrate excellent communication skills and be able to work in a team environment/team player
  • Strong customer service focus
  • Ability to work overtime as needed
  • Other duties as assigned
