About The Position

Consider joining the Pennex family as a Welder in our Wellsville, PA location. The Welder position is a crucial member of the maintenance team, responsible for providing welding support to our maintenance department. The Welder performs welding tasks, selects appropriate welding equipment, tools, machines, torches and cutters. The Welder is committed to improving or maintaining welding quality and supports the maintenance department as needed. Our Welders communicate effectively, have good organizational skills, work with high attention to detail, and possess the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Requirements

  • Required: High school diploma or the equivalent
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in welding, manufacturing, or fabrication setting
  • Ability to read interpret blueprints and welding plans
  • Familiarity with welding equipment and tools, including welding machines, cutting torches, and plasma cutters
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions
  • Ability to lift and move heavy materials and equipment
  • Willingness to work in a variety of settings, including indoors and outdoors, and in different weather conditions.
  • Consistently exhibits a positive, respectful attitude towards co-workers and customers
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment physical and drug screen
  • Must be authorized to work in the US, sponsorships are not available
  • Must have regular attendance

Responsibilities

  • Performs welding task using a variety of techniques, including mig, stick, cutting, torching and plasma welding.
  • Interprets blueprints and welding plans to determine the appropriate welding techniques and materials need to for each job.
  • Selects appropriate welding equipment and tools, including welding machines, cutting torches, and plasma cutters.
  • Ensures that all welding equipment and tools are properly maintained and repaired as needed.
  • Follows all safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries.
  • Monitors and maintains welding quality and consistency to meet customer specifications and industry standards.
  • Works with the maintenance team as well as engineers to complete projects on time and within budget.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
