The Welder position at Doosan Bobcat involves welding metal components according to specified layouts, blueprints, and work orders. The role requires proficiency in electric arc-welding and spot welding, ensuring high-quality welds while adhering to safety regulations. The position is for the 2nd shift, with potential overtime based on production needs.

  • Set up electrode wire per procedure to prepare welding equipment for operation.
  • Position and clamp work pieces together or assemble them in a jig or fixture.
  • Strike arc and manually guide electrode or gun along weld line to form specified depth of fusion and bead.
  • Examine weld for bead size and other specifications.
  • Clean or degrease weld joint or work piece using power equipment as needed.
  • Run spot welder as needed ensuring proper tips are used.
  • Ensure spot welder tacks are secure and uniform without dimpling opposite surface.
  • Perform duties in a safe, efficient manner in compliance with safety rules and regulations.
  • Use side grinder to clean up all grinding splatter and ensure quality surfaces near weld zone.
  • Keep work area clean, orderly and maintain 5S schedule.
  • Fill out daily production sheets accurately.
  • Scan and record information in the Oracle inventory system.
  • Identify and label parts for their specific area with correct quantity and location.
  • Perform quality checks as required.
  • Assist in the instruction and training of others as requested by supervisor.
  • Complete preventative maintenance and other duties as directed by Total Production Maintenance.
  • Perform other non-essential duties as assigned by management.
  • High School Diploma/Equivalent required.
  • 2+ years of welding experience preferred.
  • Ability to follow established methods and procedures.
  • Ability to work rapidly and under time pressure for extended periods.
  • Ability to read build sheets and blueprints.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Prerequisite Training Course completed.
