We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Welder level 2 to join our team in Escalon, CA. As a Welder 2, you will be responsible for performing various welding tasks and ensuring the quality and integrity of the welds. This is a full-time position that requires knowledge in blueprint reading, and adherence to codes and standards.   • Able to pass a fillet weld test.
  • Familiar with the machine controls involved in completing a task on a particular machine.
  • Able to use minor machines (e.g., overhead crane, fork lift, hydraulic press).
  • Ability to identify an acceptable weld.
  • Produces consistent weld quality by hand.
  • Able to correctly load weld fixtures and complete all hand welds.
  • Follows defined objectives set by the Foreman with minimal supervision.
  • Able to setup fixtures and welders.
  • Able to recognize a suspected problem within a particular process and alert the supervisor.
  • Possesses a basic knowledge of fabrication drawings.
  • Able to identify various materials in order to employ the correct welding process.
  • Able to setup fixtures and welders without supervision.
  • Possesses an intermediate knowledge of fabrication drawings; Able to read and interpret basic weld symbols and measurements.
  • Ability to change fractions to decimals and decimals to fraction with the use of a chart.
  • Ability to do routine tasks (e.g., TCP check and wire change).
  • Ability to assist with basic machine maintenance.
  • Language Skills- Ability to read a limited number of two and three syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between sets of numbers. Ability to speak and print simple sentences.
  • Mathematical Skills- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Reasoning Ability- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Computer Skills- To perform this job successfully, an individual will have to interact with a computer. Basic skills required shall include the use of Internet software and the ability to look-up, open, and manage files.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
