About The Position
The Welder position is responsible for performing welding tasks in a manufacturing facility. The role involves connecting cables from the welding unit, starting the power supply, and striking an arc to generate heat for melting and depositing metal. The welder will manually guide the electrode or gun along the weld line, ensuring the correct depth of fusion and bead. The position requires welding in various positions, examining welds for specifications, applying filler rods, and cleaning weld joints. Additional responsibilities include repairing broken parts, preparing surfaces for welding, and tacking assemblies together.
