About The Position

This position supports the business by providing great individual service to the structural welding department, helping to build frames for our customer's buildings. Joins, Fabricates, and repairs metal and other weldable materials by applying appropriate welding techniques Interprets Blueprints, specifications, diagrams, or schematics to determine the appropriate welding process Receives job duties from the production lead/supervisor Follow work procedures and tool and material requirements Select and set up welding equipment Clean and prepare surfaces to be welded Fabricate metal building and metal roofing components Use a rod or wire and heat to join metals Use a plasma torch, grinding wheel, band saw or other instrument for cutting metal Ensure welds meet standards and specifications Other projects and responsibilities may be added at the company’s discretion Other jobs/duties as directed

Requirements

• High School Graduate or General Education Degree
• 2 years’ experience in welding/fabricating
• Ability to work in degrees of precision and control where damage could be considerable
• Attention and care are required to prevent injury to self or others when performing work
• Ability to stoop, bend, and stand for long periods of time
• Agreement to wear protective equipment for exposure to glare, burn, and shrapnel
• Ability to perform in adverse working environments regarding temperature, hot/cold.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a continual basis above shoulder height and below the waist

Nice To Haves

• Welding certification is preferred but not required
