Requirements

  • Experience with TIG (GTAW) welding – stainless, aluminum, titanium.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 2 years of experience TIG (GTAW) welding.
  • Proficiency in operating welding, machinery, tools, and related equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical blueprints, schematics, and shop drawings.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
  • Physical stamina and ability to work in varying conditions (e.g. heat, confined spaces, heights).
  • Work may involve exposure to loud noises, fumes, and hot or cold temperatures.
  • Must be able to lift and carry heavy materials (up to 50 lbs.) regularly.

Nice To Haves

  • Able to meet AWS-D17.1 certification standards

Responsibilities

  • Perform advance TIG (GTAW) welding techniques on aircraft engine and airframe parts and components.
  • Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to determine welding requirements.
  • Prepare materials by cleaning, cutting, and grinding metals to ensure proper fit and alignment, including fixture design and fabrication.
  • Inspect completed welds to ensure compliance with project specifications and quality standards.
  • Operate and maintain welding equipment and tools, ensuring they are in good working condition.
  • Collaborate with engineers, fabricators, and other team members to troubleshoot issues and recommend improvements.
  • Adhere to all safety guidelines, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe work practices.
  • Maintain accurate records of materials used, work performed, and time spent on each project.
  • Technicians must be flexible to work around the clock shifts, including weekends and holidays, in the outdoors in all weather conditions. Schedules are bid and awarded according to seniority.
