The Weld Supervisor is responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of workers engaged in grinding, deburring, and welding of metal products. This role involves analyzing work orders and blueprints, managing production schedules, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations while fostering a productive work environment.

  • Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in grinding, deburring, and welding of metal products.
  • Analyzes work orders and blueprints to determine material and operations required.
  • Requisitions dies, fixtures, and materials as needed.
  • Examines defective machinery to determine causes of malfunction and reports for repairs.
  • Studies production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for job completion.
  • Interviews, hires, and trains employees.
  • Plans, assigns, and directs work; praises performance and rewards.
  • Works with HR for employee terminations or discipline; addresses complaints and resolves problems.
  • Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
  • Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
  • Recommends measures to improve production methods and equipment performance.
  • Suggests changes in working conditions to increase efficiency.
  • Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving them.
  • Initiates plans to motivate workers to achieve goals.
  • Maintains time and production records.
  • Confers with other supervisors to coordinate departmental activities.
  • Attends daily or weekly meetings with leadership, production, HR, and other departments.
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D; preferred degree in a technical or relevant field.
  • 5+ years of experience as a supervisor in a manufacturing environment.
  • 10+ years of welding experience or similar role.
  • Specific Lean Manufacturing background desired.
  • Blueprint reading with G.D.T. experience.
  • Strong organizational and leadership abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated with a results-driven approach.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Solid computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Experience with Epicor ERP Software is a plus.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Familiarity with Epicor ERP Software.
