Sanmina Corporation has facilities strategically located in key regions throughout the world. The Sanmina Fremont facility is a full-service enclosure systems solution manufacturing plant. Located in California's Silicon Valley, this facility produces low-to-mid volume New Product Introduction (NPI) runs to full-scale volume. The Fremont facility offers everything from small piece parts to fully integrated and tested systems. In addition, this location offers in-house painting capabilities and flexible logistics solutions in distribution, inventory management and hubbing, as well as repair services. Sanmina is looking for a detail oriented and dedicated Quality Inspector for our day shift in our Fremont, CA location. In this role, you will be responsible for determining product acceptance both in-process and at final assembly by inspecting parts per customer drawings and workmanship standards. You will make use of monitoring and measurement devices, as well as perform visual inspection. You will document and submit the results of inspection and testing activities in both paper and electronic systems. You will determine and may assist in developing methods and procedures for quality inspection and control.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or college courses.
  • Minimum of 4-6 years of quality assurance experience in a mechanical manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with weld inspection HIGHLY DESIRED.
  • Experience as a CMM operator is a plus.
  • Must have knowledge of GD&T drawings consistent with the latest revisions of the ASME standards.
  • Ability to design and build fixtures for welding parts.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Ability to pass a weld test.
  • Welding Certification is a plus, knowledge in robot weld, arc weld, spot weld.
  • Knowledge of mechanical inspection and able to use inspection tools.
  • Experience reading and interpreting Bill of Materials (BOM), workmanship standards and customer engineering specifications.
  • Experience with basic inspection equipment and measurement such as, but not limited to bore gauge, caliper, micrometer, pin gauges, etc.
  • Competent in word processing, spreadsheets, and data analysis.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Must be flexible in regards to overtime availability and work with minimal supervision.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with weld inspection HIGHLY DESIRED.

Responsibilities

  • Perform inspections to determine the quality of both metal components and electromechanical assemblies, visually and dimensionally, based upon internal and customer supplied workmanship standards and drawing specifications.
  • Areas of inspection will include primarily machining, sheet metal fabrication, paint and weld, but may extend to clean room and final assembly inspection.
  • Perform receiving inspection on incoming purchased components and raw materials.
  • Determine and assist in developing methods and procedures for quality inspection and control.
  • Apply final labels or markings as required to demonstrate product acceptance.
  • Document and communicate any non-conformances identified during inspection activities.
  • Perform calibration audits and support internal calibration activities.
  • Complete daily reports of inspection activities.
  • Visual acuity and manual dexterity required.
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend and lift up to 50 lbs.
