As the Weld Lead , your primary responsibility is daily supervision of all welding operations within the given facility. This position requires a high level of communication.

Requirements

Detailed understanding of welding processes knowledge of AWS D1.1 code and shop capabilities
Ability to accurately read / interpret blueprints and weld symbols
Understanding of and willingness to follow work order instructions
Good communication and problem-solving skills
Comfortable communicating with management and Human Resources
Experience with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Weld diploma or AAS degree
1+ years of welding experience
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, bend, crawl, and be on your feet 8+ hours per workday
Or any combination of education and experience that would provide the required skill and knowledge for successful performance would be acceptable

Responsibilities

Provide daily work direction to welding personnel
Coordinate orders with management and purchasing departments for welding / shop supplies
Ensure Quality Control processes and procedures are adhered to
Maintain accurate equipment maintenance and repair logs for hoists and weld machines
Coordinate equipment repairs as needed
Approve employee HR requests and timecards
Prepare and provide employee performance reviews
Document any workplace related injuries and communicate with the Safety Director
