Uses hand tools such as but not limited to air chisel, chop saw, plasma cutters, grinders, hammer drill, pry-bar, and bench vice to perform destructive and/or nondestructive tests on materials, parts or products to measure performance, life or material characteristics. Use of visual aids and computer programs.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Able to stand for 8-10 hours a day and be physically capable of performing the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English at a level sufficient to safely and effectively perform job duties, including following work instructions, safety procedures, and company communications.

Responsibilities

  • Understands and can explain the company's Quality Policy.
  • Understands job description and required tasks. Able to explain how this position impacts customer satisfaction and contributes to fulfilling the Quality Policy.
  • Understands the overview of Quality Management System and document architecture.
  • Understands and explain all relevant quality policies, procedures and work instructions associated with this job description.
  • Understands and is able to identify Quality Management System and implementation non-conformance’s and document and/or log all non-conformity.
  • Participates in preventative actions where appropriate. Conducts corrective actions and perform problem solving analysis and reporting as required.
  • Conducts housekeeping for personal work area and shared facility space.
  • Observes and complies with all safety, environmental, regulatory, and statutory requirements associated with this job description.
  • Participates in needs analysis and attends and performs the requirements of scheduled training and educational programs identified for this position.
  • Participates, as requested, in independent objective auditing activities and supports company continuous improvement activities.
  • Supports productions on the processes that are appropriate and contain suspect or defective material or services to avoid further processing.
  • Uses hand tools such as but not limited to cutter, pry-bar, and bench vice to perform destructive and/or nondestructive tests on materials, parts or products to measure performance, life or material characteristics.
  • Uses power tools such as but not limited to air-hammer, chop saw, plasma cutter, and hand grinder.
  • Inspects materials, parts or products for conformance to specifications and contacts the Supervisor to discuss non-conformances.
  • Operates cutters, grinders, and press equipment to break welds. Along with the use of nitric acid, in order to conduct acid and measurement tests with lecoscope
  • Uses measurement tools such as but not limited to calipers and micrometers to ensure adequate welds of parts or products.
  • Completes appropriate paperwork to inform Weld Technicians of part failure for equipment repair and/or service.
  • Evaluates data and writes reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards.
  • Enters data into graphs and charts that are given by engineering
  • Recommends modifications of existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality within limits of equipment capability.
  • Completes appropriate paperwork, records data, and turns completed paperwork into Supervisor
