About The Position

Our Micron Early Learning Center in Boise is seeking Welcome Center Staff for their front desk. This position is responsible for creating a friendly, helpful, welcoming atmosphere for everyone as they enter. At the Y, we believe every child is of promise and deserves the opportunity to discover who they are and what they can achieve. The Treasure Valley Family YMCA's Child Development programs support children in their ongoing growth to ensure that they are ready for the next educational milestone, whether that be preschool, kindergarten, middle school, or high school. Schedule: Seeking 2 candidates, either full-time or part-time. Total weekly hours are 20-40 hours per week. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday 6:30am-6:30pm. Requirements

  • Previous customer service, sales, or related experience.
  • Basic computer and office skills.
  • Must be able to engage others in conversations and make all people feel welcome.
  • Ability to respond calmly and quickly to safety and emergency situations.
  • Must have good interpersonal and communications skills and be sensitive, adaptable, professional, and articulate when dealing with others.
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

  • Develop intentional relationships with parents and staff.
  • Serve as a point of contact for parents and guests, providing accurate information about Micron Early Learning Center, programs and policies, etc.
  • Assist in connecting to appropriate Y staff if needed.
  • Use databases and software to confirm or update parent and child information, and check-in children, maintaining appropriate confidentiality.
  • Resolve parent concerns, resolve conflicts within scope of position, address safety concerns, and refer to policy procedures.
  • Field and resolve parent concerns and inform supervisor of unusual situations or unresolved issues.
