About The Position
The Weiner Family Entrepreneur in Residence is a full-time, on-campus staff position that leads Thought Into Action (TIA) programs: TIA Incubator, TIA Summer Accelerator, and TIA Entrepreneur Showcase. The focus of TIA is facilitating the creation and advancement of real ventures (for-profit, not-for-profit, and other social and community ventures) by student entrepreneurs and changemakers, and driving the development of students' entrepreneurial skills. TIA programs are fueled by volunteer alumni mentors who commit their time, experience, and expertise to helping students realize their visions for ventures, innovations, and change. The Entrepreneur in Residence is responsible for the TIA Incubator and Summer Accelerator, including: recruiting and engaging students to participate in TIA programs; recruiting, training, and engaging alumni mentors to provide advice and expertise for student entrepreneurs; evolving, developing, and leading program content for student entrepreneurs at all stages; providing advice and direction to entrepreneurial teams (and their mentors), particularly as they encounter obstacles or thorny challenges; and identifying and implementing improvements to these programs that enhance the experiences of student and mentor participants and drive additional positive outcomes.
