About The Position

The Non-Ferrous Scale Operator is responsible for accurately operating scales within a warehouse or outdoor environment. This role ensures all scale tickets are complete and accurate, reflecting the correct customer information, material types, and weights. As a customer-facing position, it requires strong communication and excellent customer service skills.

Requirements

• Prior experience in scrap or recycling operations is preferred.
• Crane Operator certification is required or preferred depending on location.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Basic proficiency with computer systems.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities.
• Ability to lift and move objects up to 40 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Accurately inspect and process inbound and outbound materials, ensuring proper weights, material descriptions, and grades.
• Determine material upgrades and enter accurate data into the inventory system.
• Assist with material sorting and processing as needed.
• Support loading and unloading of vehicles.
• Maintain precise and complete documentation of all scale transactions.
• Communicate material discrepancies promptly to Operations Managers.
• Follow detailed specifications for outbound loads.
• Adhere to all company safety and environmental standards.
• Collaborate effectively with team members and other departments.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
