Phlebotomists are responsible for collecting blood samples from patients, ensuring proper procedures are followed, and maintaining patient safety and comfort throughout the process. The candidate performs phlebotomy on both inpatients and outpatients. Outpatient duties may include assignment to one of our outpatient satellite laboratories. All outpatient staff are responsible for order entry of Laboratory orders. Inpatient phlebotomy includes, morning rounds, beeper phlebotomy, and other duties as assigned. Employee may be asked to perform duties deemed necessary by supervision.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 1+ years of phlebotomy experience required
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Collect blood samples from patients
  • Ensure proper procedures are followed
  • Maintain patient safety and comfort throughout the process
  • Perform phlebotomy on both inpatients and outpatients
  • Handle order entry of Laboratory orders for outpatient staff
  • Conduct morning rounds and beeper phlebotomy for inpatients
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervision
