About The Position
7 News in Washington, DC has an immediate opening for a Weekend Newscast Producer. This is a great way to get a foot in the door and hone your producing skills in a shop where expectations are high and producers are editorial leaders tasked with building compelling, distinctive, viewer-focused shows. If that sounds like a good fit - we want to hear from you! The Successful Candidate: Multi-platform news consumer, well-versed in major storylines of the day. Solid news judgment. Writes impactful, concise scripts quickly. Communicates clearly with colleagues and talent on the set. Able to manage time and meet show deadlines Responds positively to feedback and makes adjustments as required. Flexible in responding to late updates and breaking news Able to troubleshoot effectively and calmly in the booth. Understands news is a 24-7 business and may require nights, weekends and holidays.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years news producing experience at a commercial TV station
- Bachelor's Degree in Journalism or similar preferred.
Nice To Haves
- Familiarity with iNews, Xpression, Tagboard and Avid a plus.
